Politzeku Kostenko after torture requires an operation

A participant in the Kyiv Euromaidan Alexander Kostenko, placed in a pre -trial detention center in occupied Simferopol, needs an operation on his left hand, which was broken by the security forces from the FSB in February. According to Kasparov.ru, this was announced by the lawyer of Politsek Dmitry Sotnikov with reference to the doctors of the pre -trial detention center.

The doctors explained the need for the operation by the fact that the broken arm did not grow together in almost a month and a half. To this, Sotnikov added, the client himself complained to him during their meeting on Monday.

Kostenko was kidnapped on February 5, but on the day of his detention, the 6th is considered. As previously noted by the Crimean field mission on human rights, there is good reason to suspect that the Russian security forces abducted the activist in continental Ukraine and illegally took it to the Crimea.

During the day after the abduction until the official detention, the FSB officers subjected the Maidan to fights and tortures. The result of torture along with other bodily injuries was a fracture of the left elbow joint with a displacement.

Politsyk reported the names of two security forces from among those who participated in torture. This is Andrei Tishenin and Arthur Shambazov. On March 11, among other FSB officers , another search in the Maidanian apartment in Simferopol.

Initially, Kostenko was charged with paragraph “b” of part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code (intentional infliction of mild harm to health based on hatred or enmity in relation to any social group). The punishment on this charges is up to two years of the colony. According to the Investigative Committee, on February 18, 2014, during the battles on the Maidan in Kyiv, the activist threw a stone at the employee of the Crimean "Berkut" Polienko, causing bodily injuries.

On March 11, the Maidanian was charged with another prosecution - under part 1 of article 222 (illegal storage of weapons), which provides for up to four years. As the lawyer Sotnikov said, during one of the searches at the activist, the security forces threw the home -made detail of the Makarov pistol.

On March 4, the Crimean field mission distributed an open letter from Kostenko to Russian human rights organizations in which he reported torture. Politzek wrote that he was put in a press-khata and there he was subjected to constant bullying by cellmates by the names of Bulb, Bazhenov and Guzeev. The activist explained that he was required to testify at his comrades in Euromaidan.

"I'm afraid to file complaints to the administration of the pre -trial detention center because of the threats coming from the sometimes setting and causing person in civilian clothes," the Maidanovets also noted.

Meanwhile, on March 3, Fedor Kostenko, the father of Politzek, disappeared. On that day, about 16 hours he entered Crimea from continental Ukraine, as evidenced by the fact that the Ukrainian SIM card was disconnected in his cell phone and Russian turned on. However, since then his phone has not responded. Earlier, relatives expressed fear that Kostenko Sr. was abducted to provide pressure on his son.
