A year ago, on March 21, 2014, having received the conclusion of the Constitutional Court, President Putin signed the law on the annexation of Crimea to Russia and approved the ratification of the corresponding treaty by the Federal Assembly. At the same time, a decree was signed on the creation of the Crimean Federal District as part of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. The annexation of Crimea was not recognized either by Ukraine or by the vast majority of other states in the world.
