About how the rattle of nuclear weapons is pumped up with steroids "Feeling of the Great Power", on which the charisma of Vladimir Putin rests

| The test of one of the first Soviet atomic bombs at the training ground in Semipalatinsk (Kazakhstan) on August 29, 1949. Since that time, the world lived in conditions of nuclear parity |
If we had not done it, we would not have this conversation, Dad. And half of humanity too, ”said the irradiated physicist Gusev in the film by Mikhail Romm“ nine days of one year ”. "Her" is an atomic bomb.
In these words-the simplest, understandable to the Soviet layman, and even in 1962, in the year of the Caribbean crisis (he in a strange way coincided with the year of the release of the film), the explanation of the doctrine of nuclear deterrence. They (USA) have a bomb - and we (the USSR) have a bomb. We balance each other. They create a more perfect weapon - and we create. Nuclear parity when understanding that if someone makes a deadly movement first, he will still die, holds superpower, and hence humanity, from a nuclear war.
Over the years after the fall of the Iron Curtain, nuclear weapons were destroyed and sort of like - in theory - did not spread. (Although Hirosim, according to academician Alexei Arbatov, is enough for 30 or 40 thousand, he will be enough.) The main thing is that the nuclear war ceased to be the main fear or even in general was forgotten. And now - Vladimir Putin in the film "Crimea. The way to his homeland ”said that the Russian leadership on the days of the annexation of Crimea was ready to use nuclear forces.
That is, at first Nikita Khrushchev participated in creating the threat of world nuclear war in 1962-because of the island of Cuba, now-Vladimir Putin was ready to do this because of the Crimea Peninsula. By the way, Crimea for the President of Russia, as he repeated more than once, the source of special Russian “spirituality” (why is unknown, but this is not about this now). But for Khrushchev, Cuba was precisely that the source of the true revolutionary “spirituality” - a pure, passionate, lost by the bronze Soviet Union.

And it began ... Listeners of one Moscow FM radio station were interviewed on whether they would be ready to use nuclear weapons for the sake of Crimea. 62 % replied that yes, 38 % - no. Of course, it is necessary to understand that the audience of this radio station is pro -government. And that people who are not lazy to participate in media -questioning are a specific and often quite aggressive category of citizens. Nevertheless, these figures are representative in terms of the fact that a mental shift occurred in the heads of people, there is no fear and responsibility.
And what other heads should have been if the Supreme Commander -in -Chief himself invitingly tinkles, like a taxi driver with a car keys, nuclear weapons?
Actually, the Russian leadership continues to do this. Three days after the demonstration of the film on Central Television, the naval strategic forces of the Northern Fleet confirmed their combat readiness. In addition, ten strategic missile carriers of the Tu-22 are planned to be transferred to Crimea. This is piquant, especially if we take into account the fact that, according to some evidence, during the collapse of the USSR, Crimea for Ukraine was left in exchange for a nuclear status of this republic, which was later recorded in the Budapest memorandum of 1994.
Of course, we can say that the audience of these statements by Putin is more internal than external. Thus, he pumps up with additional ideological steroids the “feeling of a great power”, on which the charisma of the President of Russia is held. This is for those who experience a geopolitical orgasm from indecent military rhetoric.
But the effect is free or involuntarily achieved - the old threat of nuclear war has returned. And the news is that the transformation of America into a “radioactive ash” is by no means a metaphor of the TV presenter reveling in itself. And nuclear deterrence, it turns out, does not work very well under Putin.
