Fighters for the rights of motorists who admonished the police for violating parking rules were detained

The coordinators of the “Movement” project, Andrei Filin and Andrei Orel, who protect the rights of car owners and fight traffic violations, were detained and taken to the Yakimanka police station.

“We were driving along Donskaya Street and noticed a police patrol car parked under the “No Stopping” sign with its flashing lights off. We made a remark that this was a violation of traffic rules. We were told that their flashing lights did not work. I then asked how they got on the line and called their boss,” Orel told Mediazona.

According to him, the chief reacted negatively to this call and then the activists promised to write a complaint against the actions of the police.

“Then this chief called the PPS commander and gave the order to detain us and deliver us. As a result, we were brought to the Yakimanka police station, but they haven’t shown anything to us yet. True, one of the policemen came up and first said that we would be booked under 19.3 (Administrative Code, disobedience to the legal demands of a police officer),” Orel said. He is still in the police car, and Filin “walks around and takes pictures of everyone.”

It later became known that the motorists were released without charge.
