The sixth season of "Downton Abbey" will be the last

The creators of the British television series “Downton Abbey” officially announced their intention to complete it in 2015 by showing the sixth season.

In the season there will be 9 episodes, the last of which will be released on Christmas, BBC reports with reference to the ITV television channel, broadcasting the series since 2010.

Since then, the history of the English aristocratic family and its encirclement against the backdrop of the events of the first third of the 20th century has become one of the most popular television series in the UK and abroad and received many awards, including two BAFTA prizes, three Golden Globes and eleven Emmy.

“For all of us, on board the Downton, it was an amazing journey,” admitted the author of the script Julian Fellowe. Its next project will be the historical drama “ The Gilded Age”, which will take place in New York at the end of the 19th century.

“For any show, the moment inevitably begins when it should end, and Downton is no exception,” said the executive producer of the Gareth series. However, in a conversation with journalists on Thursday, March 26, he stated that a full -length film would be shot about the heroes of the Abbey Daunton.
