Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky announced the dismissal of the director of the Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater (Ngatoib) Boris Mezdrich.

Medinsky also said that Vladimir Kekhman, director of the Mikhailovsky Theater (Petersburg), was appointed to the place of Madzrich, RIA Novosti reports.

In February, according tothe statement of the Metropolitan of the Novosibirsk and Berdsky Tikhon, who saw the desecration of religious symbols in the production of Wagner’s opera “Tangeyer” to Ngatoib , the prosecutor's office started administrative affairs against Boris Mezdrich and the director of the production of Timofei Kulyabin. On March 10, the magistrate court in Novosibirsk decided to stop proceedings against Mezdrich and Kulyabin due to the lack of a composition of the offense.

The prosecutor's office appealed the court decision. Maddrich’s case will be obeyed in the Central District Court of Novosibirsk on April 3, Kulyabina - April 6.

On March 13, public hearings were held in the Ministry of Culture in connection with the scandal around the Tangaiser. According to the results of the hearings, the ministryextended an application for the need to make changes to the performance and "bring public apologies to everyone whose religious feelings were affected." The Ministry of Culture stated that “he considers unacceptable a free or involuntary expression of disrespect for traditional values, manifested by the leadership of the theater and the director-director, and indicates the director of the theater B.M.
