Nepomniachtchi's house arrest extended until September

The term of house arrest for the new defendant in the Bolotnaya case, Ivan Nepomnyashchikh, has been extended until September 6, and the term for the investigation of the criminal case itself has also been extended until this date. This was reported on twitter "Faces".

During a meeting in the Basmanny Court, the investigator asked the court to extend the term of Nepomniachtchi's house arrest for five months, that is, until September 6. The investigation also asked the court to maintain all the restrictions imposed on Nepomniachtchi by the previous court ruling.

Nepomnyashchikh petitioned for a recognizance not to leave him, since he "was not seen in criminal acts." Nepomnyashchikh noted that in six months he could lose his qualifications, so he would like to be able to go to work.

Nepomniachtchi's defense asked the court, in case of leaving house arrest as a preventive measure, to allow an hour-long walk, and also to let him go to work once to transfer documents to the management, as well as to write an application for leave.

As a result, Judge Dudar extended the period of house arrest until September 6, the scope of restrictions in connection with the arrest remained the same.

Nepomniachtchi is charged under Part 2 of Art. 212 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation in riots) and part 1 of Art. 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (use of violence against representatives of the authorities). According to investigators, on May 6, 2012, Nepomniachtchi took part in "mass riots" on Bolotnaya Square and hit two police officers, Kolpakov and Gavrilov, with an umbrella. He is currently under house arrest.
