Russia became the chairman of BRICS

From April 1 to the year, Russia becomes the chairman of the BRICS - groups of countries, which also includes Brazil, India, China and South Africa, RIA Novosti reports. Within the framework of its presidency, Russia, which accepts it from Brazil, will hold a number of events, the key of which will be the summit planned in the early July in Ufa.

The Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that the course of the chairmanship of Russia sets the task of "transforming the association into a full -format mechanism of strategic and current interaction on key issues of the world economy and politics."

As noted at a meeting of the College of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the main goals are the beginning of the functioning of the new development bank and a bullet of foreign exchange reserves.

According to the ambassador on special instructions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vadim Lukov, some partners in the West are already starting to probe the soil to enter the BRICS development bank. He drew attention to the fact that for the first time such institutions are created without the participation of Western countries.

The agreement on the creation of an interstate credit institution was signed at the VI summit of the BRICS countries in the Brazilian fortaletia on July 15, 2014. The new financial institution will give money for projects in developing countries and founding countries. The headquarters of the institution will be located in Shanghai.

Among the closest events of the chairmanship is the first official meeting on April 22 in Moscow of ministers of natural resources and consultations of deputy heads of the Foreign Ministry.

The total area of ​​the BRICC countries is 26 percent, and the population is 42 percent of the global. In 2013, the share of BRICS in world trade was 16.1 percent, in military expenditures - 10.8 percent, in the production of traditional types of energy - 40.2 percent.
