The case against Alexander Serebryanikov has been dropped

On March 30, 2015, the Oktyabrsky District Court of Murmansk terminated the criminal case against the owner of the Murmansk website Blogger51, Alexander Serebryanikov, due to the expiration of the statute of limitations, according to the Sova Information and Analytical Center. In 2013, a criminal case was initiated against the site owner under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting hatred or enmity). The reason for it was the publication of material containing "statements inciting to hostile actions against a group of persons united on the basis of their attitude to religion."

We are talking about the appearance on Blogger51 in a post dated March 5, 2013 of a paragraph of nationalist content dedicated to the murder in Moscow of the former head of the representative office of the Murmansk region, Adil Nazim ogly Makhmudov. Serebrynikov claims that the paragraph appeared in the text after the site was hacked; detecting interference, the editor promptly deleted someone else's text and moved the news to the archive. In May 2014, during the ongoing consideration, the Oktyabrsky Court decided to return the Serebryanikov case for additional investigation, but in July the Murmansk Regional Court overturned this decision, and the case returned to the district court.
