Yandex will reduce some employees

Yandex Internet companies will reduce the budget for employees by about 10 % in 2015. According to RBC a source close to the company, in particular, separate vacancies will be frozen and part of the staff will be dismissed. This information was confirmed by three sources in the leadership of Yandex. It is assumed that the company will leave 170 people, which is about 3 % of the total state of Yandex. At the same time, the Internet company will continue the set of new employees, but only in the most promising areas and less actively than in previous years. For the past two years, Yandex spent on employees from 16 to 22 % of its revenue. Last year, personnel expenses exceeded 10 billion rubles. The company has repeatedly stated that it intends to keep the bar of these costs at the level of 20 % revenue. According to sources, the reduction in expenses was initiated by the Board of Directors, to which the leadership of Yandex in February presented the draft budget for 2015.
