© Transatlantic Pictures Frame from the movie "Rope"On April 17 and 18, the Moscow Cinema Pioneer will continue its project “Finally in the Cinema” Weekend “The perfect murder”, in the program of which are two thrillers Alfred Hitchcock-“Strangers on the train” and “Rope”.
"Strangers on the train" ( Strans on a Train , 1951) - a film adaptation of the novel of the classic of detective literature Patricia Haismit about a sophisticated transaction between two Americans. One wants to kill his father, the second is thinking of getting rid of his wife. In order to provide each other with Alibi and remain non-manner, the heroes decide to exchange crimes-to commit an ideal murder of a “cross”. Each of them must send someone else's relative to the next world and thus come out of the water dry. “Strangers on the train”-Hitchcock’s masterpiece, intellectual black and white noir about murder as another game that people play and which exists on the other side of good and evil.
Rope ( Rope , 1948) is one of the most conceptual and provocative films of Hitchcock. Its continuous action unfolds in real time (reception for that time is revolutionary) and is closed in a penthouse on Manhattan. Here, two young dandies arrange a gorgeous party on the occasion of the murder of their friend, whose corpse lies in the chest in the center of the apartment, which none of the audience realizes. Based on real events and dedicated to crime as a type of leisure, the picture caused a scandal and was even banned in several countries, and is now perceived as a forerunner of modern stories about “American psychopaths”-wealthy and saturated people from high society, “schismatic eras of capitalism”, killing someone not for money, but simply from boredom or from sports interest.
