Today, April 3, in the 57th year of his life, the restorer Vladimir Dmitrievich Sarabianov died.

The son of Academician Dmitry Sarabyanov, Vladimir Sarabyanov graduated from the Department of Art of the Moscow State University, led the restoration of icons from the museums of Russia and the complex restoration work on the ancient Russian frescoes of Pskov, Polotsk, the old Ladoga, the Church of the Assumption in Zvenigorod, the ensembles of the monumental painting of the Moscow Kremlin and the Kirillo-Belozersky monastery.

Also in different years, he took part in the restoration of the stences of the Assumption and Trinity Councils of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra, the Pokrovsky tent of Alexander Sloboda and others.

The author of more than a hundred scientific works on the history of ancient Russian art and the restoration of ancient Russian painting, 15 books, including the pre -Mongol churches of Novgorod land, was the co -author of the History of Old Russian Painting (2007), a member of the editorial board of the art of the Christian world (since 1996), a member of the Patriarchal Council for Culture, taught in the Orthodox St. Tikhonovsky Humanitarian University.

In addition, Vladimir Sarabyanov took an active part in the work of the Federal Scientific and Methodological Council for the preservation of the cultural heritage of the Ministry of Culture, was a member of the certificate commission of the Restorers of the Ministry of Culture, a senior researcher at the Sector of ancient Russian art of the State Institute of Art of Art.
