The court terminated the proceedings on the complaint against Tangaer

The Central District Court of Novosibirsk lifted all the claims of the prosecutor's office from the former director of the Novosibirsk State Opera and Ballet Theater Boris Mezdrich related to the production of the opera Tanniger, RIA Novosti reports. Thus, the decision of the court of first instance on the termination of the administrative case in relation to Mezdrich due to the lack of an offense entered into force.

Earlier, the prosecutor’s office, who initially appealed the verdict of the Court of Madzrich and the director of the Tangeiser Timofei Kulyabin, withdrew the protest.

Consideration of the protest in the Kulyabin case was scheduled for April 6. It is assumed that the court will terminate the proceedings in his case.

"The possibility of further consideration of protest is excluded. The judge determined to accept the review of the prosecutor’s protest on the termination of the proceedings. The proceedings on the administrative case are terminated," said Judge Julia Gliznyak.

The opera "Tanniger" at the Novosibirsk Theater was put in December 2014. In January, the Metropolitan of the Novosibirsk and Berdsky Tikhon complained about the production of the prosecutor's office. After the trial, representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church asked the FSB, the TFR and the Prosecutor General’s Office to again check the Tannheiser to insult the religious feelings of believers.

The support of Timofei Kulyabin and Boris Mezdrich was publicly announced by the largest figures of Russian culture on March 10, the World Court of the Central District of Novosibirsk closed the proceedings on Timofei Kulyabin and Boris Mezdrich, not discovering the composition of the offense in their actions.

On March 29, Boris Mezdrich was dismissed by the decision of the Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky. In his place, Vladimir Kekhman was appointed, who removed the opera from the repertoire of the theater. In addition, the new director proposed heading the Board of Trustees of the theater to the three-time Olympic champion in the Greco-Roman struggle Alexander Karelin.
