GTO testing centers have been established in 40 municipalities of the Moscow region, where anyone can come and try their hand at passing these sports standards. As reports Interfax , this was stated at a press conference by the Minister of Physical Education, Sports and Work with Youth of the Moscow Region, Roman Teryushkov. The Moscow region was included in the list of 12 regions where the implementation of the GTO complex is being tested.

According to Tereshkov, each such center is assigned a sports infrastructure, a staff of judges and volunteers. The cost of maintaining a testing center is not indicated in the Interfax message.

In March 2014, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree “On the All-Russian physical culture and sports complex “Ready for Labor and Defense” (GTO). The complex is planned to be introduced on September 1 of this year.

Minister of Sports Vitaly Mutko said that until 2017, 1.145 billion rubles will be allocated for the implementation of the GTO project, “of which 420 million rubles are subjects, the remaining resources are subsidies,” which will be issued to support the project. The complex provides for the preparation and direct implementation of established standards by the population of 11 age groups from 6 to 70 years and older. Running, jumping, pulling up, swimming and other disciplines are defined as tests.
