All wage arrears for cosmodrome workers will be repaid by April 10, director of Spetsstroy of Russia Alexander Volosov told Kommersant following a meeting this morning with employees of the Stroyindustriya-S company involved in the construction of the Vostochny cosmodrome. “Wages will be paid - this is not even discussed,” Mr. Volosov said.

Employees of Stroyindustry-S, who had not received wages since January, refused to work on March 24, andthis morning 26 cosmodrome builders went on a hunger strike demanding payment of wage arrears. The general contractor FSUE Dalspetsstroy argued that it had fulfilled its obligations to finance construction and the issue of wages should be dealt with by the contractor Ideal LLC, whose subcontractor is Stroyindustriya-S.

“We are taking all necessary measures to get out of this situation: meetings were held with the heads of the debtor companies, during which we came to an agreement that these companies will find the necessary funds, and they will repay the debt by April 10. The prosecutor's office and law enforcement agencies are actively involved in this process. Workers who want to continue their work at Vostochny facilities will be employed in branches of the enterprise,” the Spetsstroy press service today quoted the words of the acting head of Dalspetsstroy, Yuri Volkodav.

Earlier, Dmitry Rogozin noted that Spetsstroy bears responsibility for non-payment of contractors. “The only executor of the work is Spetsstroy of Russia, and not Dalspetstroy, not some “daughters”, “granddaughters”, “great-granddaughters”. Therefore, the federal agency "Spetsstroy" bears full responsibility for the implementation of all work. We will not ask from Dalspetsstroy, but from the entire organization. Mobilize all resources!” - Mr. Rogozin said during a visit to Vostochny on February 27.

Let us recall that on April 1, Kommersant learned that Dalspetsstroy could not provide the Prosecutor General’s Office with information on the expenditure of 16 billion rubles allocated from the budget for the construction of Vostochny.
