Some objects, frankly speaking, are in very poor condition.” Work on the Arena-Pobeda stadium, according to Mr. Shuvalov, needs to be accelerated. “There are no delays, but we need to start work on the zero cycle faster,” Shuvalov noted. The federal budget is ready to provide regions with slightly larger funds for advance payments. “This will allow us to negotiate more successfully with suppliers. The government is ready to help,” Shuvalov said. He emphasized that the Volgograd region is important for the government. “Putting the city in order is our responsibility to veterans. The memory of Volgograd is very important for the country,” Shuvalov said, addressing the meeting participants. Igor Shuvalov ordered that the facades of buildings, especially those overlooking Mamayev Kurgan, should be put in order by 2018. Yesterday, Igor Shuvalov, together with the Minister of Sports Vitaly Mutko, the General Director of the Russia 2018 organizing committee Alexei Sorokin, made a working visit to Volgograd, together with Governor Andrei Bocharov they inspected the airport, Mamayev Kurgan, the stadium construction site and the Volga embankment. The 2018 World Cup matches will be held from June 14 to July 15 at 12 stadiums in 11 Russian cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Saransk, Kaliningrad, Volgograd, Yekaterinburg, Samara, Sochi and Rostov-on-Don. In Volgograd, at the Arena-Pobeda stadium, two matches of the 1/8 finals will be held.
