Director David Lynch left the project of the American cable television channel for the production of the continuation of the cult series Twin Peaks.
Last fall, it became known that Lynch will become the author of the script and the director of all nine episodes of the new season “Twin Peaks” .
“I left in a year and four months of negotiations,” Lynch wrote on Twitter on Sunday, April 5. As a reason, he called the fact that the proposed level of financing does not correspond to his plan, but expressed the hope that Showtime would still bring the project to the end.
According to Lynch, last weekend he had already begun to call the actors who were offered roles in the series to inform them that he would not shoot him.
The response of Showtime , which quotes Variety , said that work on the continuation of Twin Peaks will continue and that on the channel they do not lose hope of returning to the Lynch and its co -authorship on the original series of Mark Frost.
