New expert seminar
The international memorial opens the interdisciplinary research seminar “State Terror in the USSR: sources and methods of study” and invites researchers of various specialties, graduate students, students - and everyone who in their professional activities turns to the history of Russia and eastern Europe of the twentieth century.
Meetings of the seminar are planned to be held on the third Tuesday of each month.
Estimated topics of the first seminars:
Terror statistics. Arrests, condemnation. 1921–1953. (The question of sources for studying terror statistics and the problem of the ratio of sentences of “judicial” and “extrajudicial” bodies).
Katyn. The problem of compiling memory books and the rehabilitation of victims. Source -study aspect.
The number of possible participants in the seminar is limited, so preliminary registration is required

“Memorial” invites students to sign up for the group lesson “Right of correspondence”, which takes place on Sundays and Mondays as part of the exhibition.
We will see what letters the children and parents wrote to the camps and from the camps, we will find out what written sources about people are, which keeps family memory and will be able to supplement the exhibition “Right of correspondence” with a new exposition in the windows. And it will end with a tea party!
The lesson is free, but the preliminary agreement is required.
