A large leakage of oil occurred on Sakhalin

In the north -east of Sakhalin on the oil field, Ekhabi Vostochny, owned by the subsidiary of Rosneft, the company RN -Sakhalinmorneftegaz, a large leak of oil occurred. This was reported by the ecological shift of Sakhalin. The volume of spilled oil is estimated at at least several tons, and the area of ​​pollution is at least several thousand square meters.

The spill occurred on the southern outskirts of the village of Vostochny, in the floodplain of the nameless stream that flows into the bay of Ehabi. The nearest residential buildings of the village are only 150-200 meters from the scene of the accident.

It is known that the spill was found on the oil industry on March 31. Nevertheless, ecologists note, the leak began earlier. “For at least a few days, oil spread on soil under the snow,” the organization said. Whether it was possible to localize the leak is unknown.

Oil jackets pump out spilled oil with special machines. In addition, they built oil on the stream. Nevertheless, the combustible continues to drain down the stream. "It is obvious that during the intensive melting of snow, a significant part of the oil spreading on the basis will fall into the stream and then into the bay of Ehabi," the environmentalists say. This bay, they emphasize, represents valuable water-bolot lands, and thousands of migratory birds stop there, including those belonging to the species, which are listed in the Red Book.

At the same time, RN-Sakhalinminomneftegaz, in violation of the law, did not inform the authorized state structures about the accident. Environmentalists note that the company also received in 2010-2012, when leaks and spills of oil have repeatedly occurred in the same oil industry.

Ekovakhta Sakhalina sent information about the incident to the prosecutor's office, the Ministry of Emergencies and Rosprirodnadzor.

As RIA Novosti reports , the information of the ecologists refuted the information of Rosneft in the subsidiary. According to the representative of the enterprise, the spill volume was only about 200 liters, and the area of ​​pollution - no more than 100 square meters. There is no threat of oil into the Ekhabi Gulf, according to the company’s employee.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology Rinat Gizatulin instructed Rosprirodnadzor to conduct an audit according to the Ekovakhta Sakhalin Ekovakhta. If it turns out that RN-Sakhalinmorneftegaz has committed violations, the company may have a request to compensate for the damage caused, the official said.
