"The term of 20 years is not terrible for me"

Ukrainian film director Oleg Sentsov, accused of terrorism in Russia, is sure that he will be released soon

By the decision of the Lefortovo District Court of Moscow, on April 8, the term of detention of the Ukrainian film director Oleg Sentsov was extended until May 11. Sentsov is accused of terrorism, as well as illegal storage of weapons, explosive substances and explosive devices. He himself categorically denies his guilt

Oleg Sentsov was an activist of the so -called "Avtomaydan", helped Ukrainian military at the time of the annexation of the peninsula. At the same time, he assures, he did not commit any explosions and arson to destabilize a new regime. By the way, in the case file there is no information about the people affected by such terrorist attacks, or about the damage to any objects or property.

But it is precisely this kind of act that he is charged with guilty. And therefore, soon a year, as Oleg Sentsov is in a pre -trial detention center. He was detained by the FSB officers in Sevastopol and passed to Moscow. Judge of the Lefortovo court Elena Kaneva, the petition of the lawyer Vladimir Samokhin for a change in the preventive measure rejected. This means that the defendant will wait for the end of the process everything in the same Lefortovo pre -trial detention center. The extension of the detention for only one month is explained by the fact that it is no longer necessary - on April 10, Oleg Sentsov will be charged. Formally, he could participate in the process, being in the wild, but the senior investigator for especially important cases of the FSB, Major Artem Burdin , petitioned for another:

- The investigation has sufficient reasons to believe that, being free, he can hide from the investigation and court and prevent the proceedings.

When Oleg Sentsov was introduced into the Hall of Suda, his friends and journalists were in amicably applauded there. He held on very calmly and firmly. They are trying to declare him the leader of the Directive Group of the "Right Sector", which included, in particular, Alexei Cherniy and Gennady Afanasyev. Afanasyev collaborated with the investigation and has already been sentenced to 7 years of strict regime. History with an ink, Oleg Sentsov made it clear, is very difficult:

- I cannot agree with the petition of the investigator, because for 11 months that I am detained, no evidence of my participation or organization of terrorist attacks was presented. Everything is still being built on the testimony of an ink with Afanasyev. In particular, Board showed that I personally gave him orders to carry out these terrorist attacks, these explosions. But the investigation conducted an examination of the blagraph, and the lies detector showed that there is no such information in the in memory of the form.

And the investigation already has a different, psychiatric, examination, which says that the ink used to be a little in itself, and now it has become completely bad. Therefore, he can confuse the investigation.

Nevertheless, I am sure that our unlawful investigation will prove all this, because the federal service of the lawlessness of your country knows how to sew things with very well large white stitches. And I’m sure that on April 10 they will present me a very “beautiful” and “neat” business, where I will thunder for 20 years definitely. Because such a period is called to me to my official even detention, when they said that this is already a resolved issue. This is constantly said to me and my lawyers. They hint that a very difficult interesting life in the camp awaits me if I get there at all and they will not be strangled along the way.

But I'm not afraid of these threats and hints. And this period of 20 years is not terrible for me, because I know that the era of the Blood Dwarf reign in your country will end earlier, ”said Oleg Sentsov .
