The Kuntsevsky District Court of Moscow decided to arrest the political activist Pavel Shekhtman, the OVD-info reports . The meeting was held in the absence of a lawyer.
Earlier on Friday, activist’s lawyer Elena Romanova informed the Frances that she was not informed about the court hearing. The day before, the lawyer Ekaterina Goryainova, who previously defended Shekhtman, said that she had received a message from an unfamiliar number about the meeting scheduled for Friday. At the same time, there was no invitation to her as a lawyer or a reference to the investigator.
On September 30, 2014, a criminal case was instituted against Shekhtman on the denunciation of the Russian Public Control movement. The activist is charged with paragraph "A" of part 2 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code (excitement of hatred and enmity with the threat of violence). He faces up to five years in the colony.
The reason for the criminal prosecution of the activist was the repost of the publication of the Ukrainian blogger Roman Davidenko, who was made on August 15 on Facebook, where in particular, it stated that "prisoners of the Ukrainian military who refuse to comment on the Russian channels are killing terrashists." Shekhtman accompanied his repost with a comment: “Ukrainians! I hope you will not let Stenin go?! I hope you shoot him? Kill all these whores from different NTV and the first channels, kill, kill like frantic dogs!” (Andrei Stenin - RIA Novosti photoreporter, which disappeared in early August in eastern Ukraine. It was originally reported that Stenin was detained by Ukrainian security forces, but later it turned out that he was killed.)
The accusation, not differentiating the text of Davidmanko and the commentary of Shekhtman, but considering them as one publication, stated that it contains “calls for the destruction of journalists, employees of television channels, as well as people who express a pro -Russian point of view, and immigrants from the Caucasus,” as well as signs of hatred for social (journalists) and national (Russians, Chechens, Ossetians) groups.
On October 7, 2014, Shekhtman was detained . During the search, he was seized all office equipment, as well as mobile phones. On the same day, the activist was charged. The detainee was sent to the IVS of the Internal Affairs Directorate in the Western District of the capital.
On October 8, the judge of the Kuntsevsky District Court of Moscow Elena Abramova rejected the request of the investigator Krivov to send Shekhtman to the pre -trial detention center, deciding to release him on the recognizance not to leave. The next day the activist was released from the IVS .
On February 11, Shekhtman was detained by the police in his own apartment. The basis for detention, the security forces called him a failure to appear for interrogation. Meanwhile, Romanova said that she was not informed of the planned interrogations.
The next day, the court placed Shekhtman under house arrest. In the resolution, the choice of preventive measure was motivated by the fact that Shekhtman is not on the summons, it is not possible to establish its whereabouts. In addition, it was indicated that Shekhtman "continues to engage in criminal activity." Romanova in this regard did not exclude that new things and episodes may appear.
On February 14, it became known that Shekhtman had left for Ukraine and asked for political asylum.
On February 17, it was reported that Rosfinmonitoring included Shekhtman in the list of terrorists and extremists . His surname appears there at number 3455. All bank accounts of the defendants in this list are blocked.
