Thoughts of a terrorist orientation

In the Moscow District Military Court there is a process against Boris Stomakhin on the first part of Art. 205.2 of the Criminal Code - "Public calls for the implementation of terrorist activities." Only for the texts on the Internet and Samizdat with an extremely small reader's audience, Stomakhin had already received five years in prison (in 2006), and then six years and six months (in 2014). A new accusation threatens him for a period of two to five years behind bars.

After the second sentence Stomakhin, the Memorial human rights center made a statement in which he described the court decision as “largely determined by political motives”.

“The inconsistency of the punishment is amazed to incriminated acts,” the publication says. - Many Internet users know Stomakhin's texts on various political topics. In our opinion, they deserve serious censure, as they contain calls for violence - which is why we did not consider it possible to recognize Boris Stomakhin as a political prisoner. However, these texts, according to some formal signs, falling under the indicated articles of the Criminal Code, in fact are able to cause hatred (or, on the contrary, compassion) only in relation to their author. They had no real influence and could not strengthen the terrorist threat to our society and our state. This indirectly recognizes the indictment, which states that there is no information about the victims from Stomakhin's activities. ”
