The St. Petersburg tour operator “Royal Tourism Corporation” announced the impossibility of fulfilling its obligations to clients who purchased trips to Israel. Information about this is posted on the website of the insurance company Liberty Insurance.

The insurance company received a statement from the tour operator about the impossibility of fulfilling its obligations to tourists who purchased trips to Israel on April 9, 2015.

At the same time, the “Royal Tourism Corporation” does not cease its activities and continues to enter into agreements in other areas. The letter, which is at the disposal of Liberty Insurance, does not indicate the reason why this tour operator cannot fulfill its obligations under individual contracts to tourists, the message says. Also, the tour operator did not provide the insurers with a complete register of injured tourists, the amount of obligations for which insured events occur, dates, causes and nature of the damage.

The Royal Tourism Corporation was unable to provide a prompt comment by telephone. The editors of RBC St. Petersburg are awaiting a response from the tour operator on this topic.

“At present, it is impossible to estimate the number of injured tourists and the volume of unfulfilled obligations by the tour operator. The civil liability insurance contract between the tour operator Royal Travel Corporation and Liberty Insurance was concluded through the General Director Vladislav Viktorovich Borisov. The change of the general director of the travel company occurred in February 2015, of which Liberty Insurance was not notified in a timely manner. Representatives of Liberty Insurance were unable to contact V.V. Borisov. to clarify the current situation,” says a message on the insurer’s website.

The civil liability of the tour operator is insured by Liberty Insurance for 30 million rubles. As the insurance company notes, at the moment they have received several calls from injured tourists. Payments for insured events will be made in full accordance with the insurance contract and current legislation.
