Fast food is interested in the site on Soldatova

As Kommersant has learned, the international chain of fast food restaurants McDonald's has drawn attention to another site in Perm - it is located on Soldatova Street in the Sverdlovsk district. The company has already ordered a topographic plan of the site from a Perm contractor. McDonald's clarified that “at the moment the company does not have a site on Soldatova”, but in the next five to six years it is planned to open ten new outlets in Perm and one or two in the region. Experts explain the network’s interest in this part of the city by the presence of large residential areas, although they note their isolation.

As Kommersant found out, McDonald's is showing interest in another site in Perm - this is a site in the Sverdlovsk district, on Soldatova Street. McDonald's LLC (Perm branch) this spring became the customer for engineering and geodetic surveys for this site. The contractor is the Perm-based Design and Survey Company Nord LLC. As follows from the list of works indicated on the website of this LLC, at the request of McDonald's it carries out a topographic plan of the land plot on Soldatova Street. The Nord company did not disclose more detailed information about the site, citing trade secrets and the terms of the agreement.

The McDonald's press service clarified to Kommersant that “at the moment, the company’s assets do not include a site on Soldatova Street.” At the same time, the chain reported that in the next five to six years it is planned to open about ten McDonald's enterprises in Perm in addition to the two existing ones, and one or two enterprises in the Perm region.

Today there are two chain establishments in Perm - both were opened at the very end of 2011. One of them is located on the ground floor in TSUM (shopping center on Lenina, 45, included in the portfolio of the EKS Group of Companies) on a long-term lease basis. The second object is a separate building on Mira, 37a, next to the Stolitsa shopping and entertainment complex (Industrial district of Perm). The company won the right to lease a plot for the construction of this restaurant at a municipal auction in the spring of 2011. The area of the site was 1.5 thousand square meters. m, starting price - 11.076 million rubles. McDonald's offered 25.47 million rubles for it. The fact that the third point of the network in Perm could be located in the Semya shopping and entertainment complex (also managed by the EKS holding) became known back in 2013, but at the moment these plans have not been implemented.

Director of Management Company "EX" Elena Zhdanova notes that the agreements on the opening of McDonald's in the Semya shopping and entertainment complex remain in force, but the parties have not yet reached the stage of signing the agreement. It is expected that the establishment will appear in the shopping center before the end of the year. “The network’s interest in this part of the Sverdlovsk region looks quite logical - there are large residential areas here. If they maintain their standard volume of space, they can well count on an acceptable flow of visitors. In addition, they never choose a site that they are not confident in and that does not have the traffic they need, according to their calculations,” adds Ms. Zhdanova. According to restaurateur Ilya Barshevsky, the interest in this part of the city, and Soldatov Street in particular, looks somewhat strange: “There is a really large residential area there, but it is quite isolated. Maybe, of course, their strategy is this: first they “closed” Balatovo, now this territory. But the existing two points are located near busy highways, there is good transport accessibility, but here the establishment will be designed only for the surrounding area.”
