
All convicted "Primorsky partisans" appealed the verdict of the regional court in the Supreme Court in April 2014. This was reported by Interfax with reference to the press secretary of the Primorsky Regional Court Nina Bulanova.
"The criminal case with the appeal of the convicts and their defenders was sent to the judicial collegium for criminal cases of the Supreme Court for appeal," Bulanova said. According to her, the convicts after the verdict for almost a year got acquainted with the materials of the criminal case and made complaints.
“The defense is seeking the cancellation of the pre -jeal and cancellation of the verdict,” said Nelly R anda, a lawyer of one of the convicts Alexei Nikitina.
The Primorsky Partisan group was defeated on June 11, 2010 in Ussuriysk. The trial of its participants began in January 2013. The investigation accused them of more than 30 crimes.
On February 4, 2014 , the jury issued a verdict in the Partizan case . They called only four defendants guilty of the murders of police officers: Maxim Kirillov, Alexander Kovtun, Roman Savchenko and Vladimir Ilyutikov. At the same time, Savchenko was found guilty of two such killings. In addition, five of the six Primorsky partisans recognized the jury involved in the murder of four people. The jury did not recognize participation in the gang of Vadim Kovtun.
On April 28, the Primorsky Regional Court sentenced Savchenko to 25 years in prison in a maximum security colony, Kirillov - to 22 years in colony, and Vadim Kovtun - to 8 years and 2 months of imprisonment. Alexander Kovtun, Ilyutikov and Nikitin were convicted for life . In addition, the court partially satisfied the claims for compensation for moral damage, the total amount of which amounted to 16 million rubles.
