In March 2014, the TFR killed the Crimean Tatar activist of the resolve Ametov, who was stolen by the “self -defense” of Crimea, when he conducted a single picket against the annexation of the peninsula by Russia from the Council of Ministers of the region. This was reported by the Crimean field mission on human rights with reference to the relatives of the deceased. As specified, the investigators told relatives about the disclosure of the crime.
In the Investigative Committee, it was noticed that it was now impossible to detain the suspect, since he is outside the Crimea - in the Donetsk region of Ukraine in the territory controlled by the DPR terrorists. Nevertheless, investigators assured, the alleged killer will be arrested as soon as he enters Russia.
The 39-year-old Simferopolets Ametov, the father of three children, became the first victim of terror, unleashed by Russia against Crimean Tatar activists. He was abducted on March 3, 2014. The militants of the "self -defense" seated the activist in the car and took away in an unknown direction. There is a video of an incident in which the abductors and their car are clearly visible.
On March 15, Ametov’s corpse was discovered in the village of Zemlyanny, Belogorsky district. Traces of torture were noticeable on the body, and the mouth was sealed with tape. The forensic experts also discovered two stab wounds in the area of the forehead and the superfluous arc, and the cause of the death of the activist was called a knife in the eye.
The TFR opened the case of the murder of Ametov. Since the investigation was not carried out on the fact of the abduction, the militants who took the activist from the square, like the owner of the car, are only witnesses in the case.
On November 4, 2014, the investigation was suspended with the wording "The person to be attracted as the accused was not established." At the same time, the TFR under far -fetched pretexts repeatedly refused the relatives of the deceased and their lawyer in familiarization with the case file.
