The director of the play “Banquchik” Varvara Faer intends to sue the Directorate of the Pskov Academic Drama Theater of Drama named after Pushkin for pressure, which, according to her, was provided with actors who complained to the performance of the Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky, Faer himself told TASS.
She explained that she was forced to arrange the production of the production on April 11, after which the actors were called one at a time to the acting director of the theater Tatyana Martynova, who forced the actors to sign a letter to Medinsky with a complaint about the use of obsceneity and naked characters. Faer emphasized that the petition was signed by five out of 11 actors busy in the play and several employees of the theater who did not see the production.
“It is difficult to continue rehearsals when you are left without actors. I was obliged to make the scenery, but they do nothing. The manager also signed a petition. This is a lie that the performance is not prohibited. This is such a form of ban - not to let it out. I am going to switch to a tough legal language - I’ll go to court, ”she said.
Dmitry Meskhiev, the head of the theater and concert directorate of the Pskov region, claimed that the transfer of the premiere from April 16-17 to mid-May does not mean cancellation of the performance, and also assured that such a decision was made earlier for technical reasons. In early March, he announced that he would have removed from the posters the production of Tannanizer on the call of Governor Alexander Turchak.
Barbara Faer became a well -known production at the Moscow Theater.doc, and the play “Banchik” was based on an interview with the townspeople that the actors themselves took. The director in the commentary to the publication "Kashin. Guru ” emphasized that“ I wanted the Pskovs to see themselves on stage like in a mirror. ” The publication also gives excerpt from the play.
