Participants in the action against repression in Stavropol were sentenced to arrests from two to fifteen days

Eight activists of the "Communists of Russia" party, who were detained on April 14 in Stavropol during a rally against political repression against the Communists, were found guilty on April 15 of violating the established procedure for holding a public event, writes "Caucasian Knot".

The Leninsky District Court of Stavropol considered the cases of Dmitry Pechinsky and Viktor Makeev and sentenced them to the maximum sentence of 15 days of arrest each. The rest of the activists were arrested for two days.

Their lawyer Nikolai Fedotov said that the time of the beginning of the meeting was hidden from him, so the consideration of the cases of Pechinsky and Makeev took place in his absence. The activists intend to appeal against the decision of the court.

The day before, Dmitry Pechinsky and Viktor Makeev handcuffed themselves to the doors of the Stavropol government building in order to oppose the persecution of their fellow party member Mikhail Abrahamyan. The rest of the activists, dressed in red T-shirts with the inscription "No to political repression", stood fifty meters from each other, Pechinsky emphasizes. After the activists were detained, they were taken to the Leninsky police department, where they were denied access to lawyers.
