"Leviathan" Zvyagintseva goes to Finnish rental

Andrei Zvyagintsev’s film “Leviathan”, who won numerous awards, including “Cunnes Silver Palm Branch,“ Golden Globe ”nominated for Oscars and caused a violent ambiguous reaction in his homeland, is released in Finland, the portal of the Finnish television and radio company Yle reports.

Cinema Mondo has bought rights at the end of January this year.

In Finland, "Leviathan" has already been shown several times - at the Festivals "Kino October" and Season Film Festival. The first full -length directorial work of Zvyagintsev - the film "Return" - also got into Finnish rental, in 2004.

Recall, "Leviathan" tells of the confrontation of man and system in the hopeless Russian outback with a reference to the biblical IOV.

As Yle notes, in recent years this is the third Russian film, which Finnish spectators will be able to see at a wide box office: in 2012, the “Faust” of Andrei Sokurov was shown in the cinemas, and in 2006, “Fyodor Bondarchuk’s company”, which became the last Russian -language film presented by a wide Finnish viewer.
