The Ministry of Defense forgave Evgenia Vasilyeva for theft of 2.2 billion rubles

The Ministry of Defense, Oboronservis and Oboronstroy dropped their claim against the former head of the Department of Property Relations of the Ministry of Defense Yevgenia Vasilyeva for 2.2 billion rubles, reports . Interfax

According to the agency, the cost of shares of the 31st Institute, which were returned to the state in 2013, was included in the damage. At the same time, Vasilyeva's lawyer Khasan Ali Borokov said that the withdrawn claims do not change the corpus delicti.

The Investigative Committee clarified that the claims against Vasilyeva do not change and she “still is accused of committing theft on an especially large scale by an organized group.” The amount of damage remains the same - 3 billion rubles.

“We are only talking about clarifying the claims due to the fact that during the investigation it was possible to return to the state the cost of 100% of the shares of the 31st State Design Institute for Special Construction,” the ministry said in a statement.

In March, Vasilyeva testified in the case of fraud in the sale of property of the Ministry of Defense. According to her, when she became the head of the department, some of the enterprises of the Ministry of Defense were on the verge of bankruptcy, it was possible to establish their work only after the sale of "surplus assets".

Evgenia Vasilyeva is accused of violating articles 159, 174.1, 285 and 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud, money laundering, abuse of power). According to investigators, she sold the property of the ministry at a reduced price. Vasilyeva does not admit her guilt.

The Oboronservis case was initiated in the fall of 2012. In addition to Vasilyeva, the case involves the general directors of commercial structures affiliated with Oboronservis Maxim Zakutailo, Larisa Egorina, Irina Egorova. Two defendants in the Oboronservis case have already been convicted. The general director of the Mira company, Dinara Bilyalova, was sentenced to 4 years in prison and a fine of 800 thousand rubles, and the ex-head of the central experimental military cartographic factory of the Ministry of Defense, Natalya Dynkova, was sentenced to three years in prison.
