Estonia President will divorce with his wife

Estonian President Toomas Hendrick Ilves will divorce with his wife, whose marriage was registered in 2004, the press service of the office of the head of the Estonian state reports.

The report notes that Toomas Hendrick Ilves and Evelyn Ilves decided to divide the marriage by mutual agreement. By their agreement, divorce enters into force on April 30, 2015. The former spouses will continue to custody over their daughter. In addition, the Erma farm will remain in the possession of Toomas Hendrick Ilves and will be the official house of the President of Estonia.

The office emphasized that Toomomas Hendrick and Evelyn, when deciding to divorce, were guided by personal motives that were not related to the political activity of the head of state.

The discord in the Ilvesov family became public last year, when the Estonian media published photographs and videos of the president’s spouse, kissing and hugging in one of the Tallinn night clubs with a young man.
