For the first time in the history of his communication with the people, residents of Crimea annexed by Russia had questions to the president. The most relevant of them concerned the protection of human rights and freedoms, salaries, domestic policy, housing and communal services. At the same time, only two issues related to transport infrastructure were raised on the air. Some participants in the straight line, as well as observers, believe that with Crimea one could talk on other, no less important topics.

The straight line, during which Vladimir Putin answers questions of the population, this year was the 13th in a row. Everyone could ask a question to the President of Russia on the phone, via the Internet, through SMS and MMS. The innovation was the opportunity to participate in a dialogue with the Russian president, having recorded a video message lasting no more than one minute.

Two more questions concerned the transport sphere, but whether they were asked by the Crimean ones themselves, is unknown. The second question also had to do with the problem of the transport message: "When will the construction of the bridge in the Crimea begin and what timelines it will be built?"

Moreover, the first hour of the air of the direct line of the Simferopol residents could only listen to Moscow, since only a sound without a video picture was heard from the screens. Later, when they brought the television antenna, the broadcast appeared. Several dozen people gathered to observe the president’s communication with the country.

He considers it necessary to rename the city of Volgograd to Stalingrad. In addition, the Crimean Tatar public activists directed their video message to the direct line. In it, they asked the Russian President to allow them to hold Lenin Square in Simferopol on May 18 on the occasion of the Victims of Deportation, as well as to assist in the World Congress of Crimean Tatars on the territory of the peninsula and the resumption of broadcasting of the Crimean Tatar media.

However, these requests and questions from Moscow have so far without attention.
