
In Kharkov, two monuments to Lenin were demolished on Friday, Gromadske TV reports . According to the channel, monuments were demolished on the territory of the Zhukovsky and Kharkov Polytechnic Institute of the National Aerospace University.
Also, according to Gromadske TV, on the same day another monument to Lenin was demolished - on the central square of Kramatorsk Donetsk region.
On April 11, three monuments to Soviet figures were also demolished in Kharkov: the monument to Sergo Ordzhonikidze in the territory of the Tractor Plant, Nikolai Rudnev on the same square and Yakov Sverdlov on Poltavsky Shlyakh Street.
On April 9, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law "On the condemnation of the communist and national socialist (Nazi) totalitarian regimes in Ukraine and the prohibition of propaganda of their symbols." On the same day, the parliament adopted the law on the recognition of the "organization of Ukrainian nationalists" and the "Ukrainian rebel army" by fighters for the independence of Ukraine in the twentieth century and granted OUN-UPA members the right to social guarantees.
