The People's Artist of the USSR, actor of the Maly Theater Viktor Korshunov, died

In the 86th year of life, the People's Artist of the USSR, actor of the Maly Theater, Viktor Korshunov, died. This was announced by TASS by the artistic director of the Maly Theater People's Artist of the USSR Yuri Solomin.

“Recently, Korshunov was very ill. On the eve of him, his colleagues were talking on the last time, and he spoke as if saying goodbye,” said Solomin.

“It’s a pity, infinitely sorry,” he said. “Together with Viktor Ivanovich, we worked for a long time - for more than half a century, 25 years have been led by a small theater.”

Farewell to Viktor Korshunov will be held on April 21 in the building of the Maly Theater on Bolshaya Ordynka.

Korshunov - Soviet and Russian theater and cinema actor, theater director, theater teacher. Born on November 24, 1929 in Moscow. In 1951 he graduated from the Moscow Art Theater School. Since 1952, Korshunov is an artist of the Maly Theater. Since 1985, he has been the director, and from 1998 to 2009 - the general director of the Maly Theater, recalls Interfax .
