
The youth polar expedition consisting of seven students and schoolchildren, two polar explorers of Matvey Shapiro and Boris Smolin, as well as the Minister of Education and Science, Dmitry Livanov, returned from the North Pole, Interfax reports.
Livanov noted that the expedition was successful and without incident.
“There was nothing particularly dangerous with us, the bears did not come to us. I had to cross the faults in the ice, through the wormwood, but no one was injured. Everyone is alive, well, ”said Livanov.
Having reached the points of the North Pole, the participants of the expedition of Speley Pancake, using special gasoline slabs, played football. Also, the participants led round dances around the Russian tricolor installed in the Arctic, and also raised the flags of the Ministry of Education and Science and the seven regions from which the guys came.
The expedition made a path of more than 100 km, every day being on the way for 7-8 hours, making 10-minute stops after each hour. The expedition took place in a polar day.
