Pogrebov, a defendant in the “high-rise case” held under house arrest, was allowed to go to work

The investigator allowed Alexander Pogrebov, one of the four defendants in the “high-rise case” who have been under house arrest since August last year, to go to work. Pogrebov’s lawyer Olga Lukmanova reported this to Mediazona. “Alexander’s parents are pensioners, his father is a disabled person of the second group, who are dependent on him. We have long discussed with the investigator the possibility of Alexander working, but he only agreed to meet us halfway now,” she said. 34-year-old Pogrebov works as a mechanic in a car service center. For other defendants in the “high-altitude case,” the conditions of detention have not changed. In addition to Pogrebov, Alexey Shirokozhukhov, Evgenia Korotkova and Anna Lepeshkina continue to be under house arrest. Another accused, 19-year-old St. Petersburg resident Vladimir Podrezov, has been in custody in a pre-trial detention center since August 28 last year. Previously, the Moscow City Court recognized the house arrest of four base jumpers until May 20, 2015 as legal. The preliminary investigation into the “high-rise case” has already been completed. The star on the spire of the Stalinist high-rise building on Kotelnicheskaya Embankment in Moscow was painted in the colors of the Ukrainian flag on the night of August 20 last year. A few hours later, Pogrebov, Lepeshkina, Shirokozhukhov and Korotkova were detained - base jumpers who jumped from a high-rise building early in the morning. They themselves claim that they did not climb the spire and have nothing to do with the chipping of the star. St. Petersburg resident Podrezov was detained a week later. The Tagansky court took the young man into custody because he has a criminal record for theft. Ukrainian roofer Pavel Ushivets, known by the nickname Grisha Mustang, took responsibility for painting the star. At the request of the investigation, the Tagansky Court of Moscow arrested him in absentia. Human Rights Center "Memorial" recognized all the defendants in the case, with the exception of Ushivets, as political prisoners.
