Perm artist Alexander Zhunev, who painted graffiti with the crucified Gagaren, was promised to be forcibly brought to the prosecutor's office, since he did not appear to testify. Zhunev himself states that he will come to the department voluntarily, but with a lawyer. “The artist did not appear at the prosecutor’s office on April 17. Now he has been sent a notice of forced detention to our department on April 22. Law enforcement agencies will be involved for this,” quotes RIA Novosti Dmitry Shishkin, a representative of the Perm district prosecutor’s office. . He also told the agency that, as part of the investigation, the prosecutor’s office sent a request to the Russian Orthodox Church to obtain an assessment of the priests regarding whether the artist’s actions insulted the feelings of believers. “I was called to the prosecutor’s office by phone, and I really didn’t go because I consulted with a lawyer and they told me that by law I have five days to find a lawyer. Now I’ll go, but with a lawyer,” Zhunev told Mediazona. Zhunev’s work “Gagarin. Crucifixion" appeared on the wall of a Perm high-rise building on April 12 - the day when Orthodox believers celebrated Easter, and Cosmonautics Day was also celebrated in Russia. The artist chose the place for his graffiti not by chance: next to the house on one side there is a building of a former rocket school, on the other - a cathedral.
