
Russian President Vladimir Putin intends to visit Khakassia, where he will hold a meeting to eliminate the consequences of forest fires. This was announced by Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov, Interfax reports.
“The president really decided to visit Khakassia as a region that suffered greatly from fires,” Peskov said. The date of visit is currently being specified.
According to him, Putin intends to get acquainted with measures on the spot, which are taken to eliminate the consequences of fires. Along with this, Putin is going to hold a large comprehensive meeting with the participation of all relevant departments and ministries in order to discuss and approve plans for the elimination of consequences, restoration of housing, etc.
In Khakassia, 30 people died as a result of forest fires , more than 900 applied for medical help. The fire was destroyed and damaged by residential buildings in 38 settlements.
