Putin appointed Tkachev as head of the Ministry of Agriculture

President Vladimir Putin proposed to the governor of the Krasnodar Territory Alexander Tkachev to head the Ministry of Agriculture, the Kremlin press service reports . Temporarily fulfilling the governor will be inquired by President Veniamin Kondratyev, who, before his appointment for the current post, was the vice-governor of the region.

At a meeting with Nakchev and Kondratyev, Putin instructed the new to the new minister to focus on solving the problem of import substitution. The President emphasized that it is necessary to fill the market with domestic products in order to "reduce the intensity" and lower prices.

Nakchev accepted the presidential proposal. Putin immediately signed a decree on his appointment. By another decree , the president appointed Kondratiev Acting Governor of the Krasnodar Territory before taking office as a new head of the region, which will be elected in September.

Earlier on Wednesday, Putin was appointed Nikolai Fedorov, who headed the Ministry of Agriculture, hisadviser on the development of the agro -industrial complex . At a meeting with Fedorov, the president noted that there are difficulties in agriculture, but there are "great opportunities associated with the release of a significant segment of the agricultural product market" for domestic manufacturers. In this regard, Putin asked Fedorov to coordinate the efforts of the government, the presidential administration and regions in the field of agriculture. The president thanked Fedorov for his work as a minister.

On Tuesday, Kommersant wrote that Putin personally made the decision to appoint Tkachev the head of the Ministry of Agriculture. It was noted that Tkachev, like Fedorov, is well acquainted with agriculture and is part of the Supreme Council of United Russia, for which the topic of import substitution will be one of the election.
