Vasiliev can become a defendant in the second criminal case of Oboronservis

With regard to the ex-head of the Department of Property Relations of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, Yevgenia Vasilieva, a new criminal case may be instituted in connection with theft at Oboronservis, Kommersant reports with reference to sources close to the investigation. According to the publication, the investigators have 34 episodes of thefts totaling 16 billion rubles.

The lawyer of the former official of the Ministry of Defense Hassan-Ali Borokov, in turn, said that the investigation of the episodes included in the so-called second case of Oboronservis was completed in the fall of 2013. "Materials on them could be transferred to the court together with the first thing. Obviously, the investigation divided the case in order to put pressure on Vasiliev," he said. The defender insists that "according to the law and conscience" his client should be justified.

The debate in the case of large -scale thefts in the defended military department "Oboronservice" will begin on April 23. According to the sources of the publication, the state prosecution may request for the accused of particularly large fraud Vasilyeva, below the lower limit or asks to limit herself to two and a half years, which she had already conducted under house arrest.

The case against the former official of the Ministry of Defense Evgenia Vasilieva was opened in 2012. She is charged with the sale of the most liquid assets of the department at low prices. According to investigators, Vasilieva legalized the received funds through controlled firms. At the same time, the damage caused as a result of its activities was estimated at three billion rubles. Since November 23, 2012, she has been under house arrest, which was extended on March 13 until June 23.
