A witness spoke about the police’s attempts to plant a pistol on environmental activist Loshkarev

On June 5, 2014, the police officers who arrested eco-activist Sergei Loshkarev in Novocherkassk tried to plant a gun on him. According to the witness, Loshkarev was brought to the car with his hands twisted, they started beating him and pushed him into the back seat of the car. In the car, he was handcuffed and a paper bag was put on his head. After that, the police officers removed a traumatic pistol from Loshkarev's bag and began to "shove a pistol into the guy's hands so that the guy's traces would remain on it," Kisenko claims.

Earlier it became known that the attesting witnesses, who confirmed the discovery of a pistol in Loshkarev's bag, at the same time participated in the preparation of administrative material in another district of the city.

Sergei Loshkarev reported that he was tortured in SIZO No. 3 in the Rostov region in order to extract confessions. This is stated in his letters to the leadership of the regional division of the Federal Penitentiary Service and the commissioner for human rights, published on the website “Russian Sector. National News Service".

According to Loshkarev, he was placed in a cell with prisoners who had been repeatedly tried for grave and especially grave crimes. “I was beaten, poured with boiling water, cut with blades, thus demanding to sign a special order. I turned to the operative, but he explained to me that I must plead guilty to what I did not do, otherwise the prisoners would kill me. The prisoners did not hide the fact that they were acting on orders from the head of the operative unit for drugs and the opportunity to knock off the terms that they had from 9 to 21 years, ”writes Loshkarev.

According to him, they refused to provide him with medical assistance and record the beatings, and the prison officer demanded that he not write complaints, threatening to kill him.

On April 6, the Memorial Human Rights Center recognized Loshkarev as a political prisoner. According to the organization, "the persecution of the eco-activist" has signs of falsification and is accompanied by gross procedural violations.
