The head of the LPR brought new evidence to Moscow against Savchenko

The investigation began the computer-technical examination of the mobile phone of Nadezhda Savchenko, who in March was brought to Moscow by the head of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic Igor Plotnitsky, the lawyer of the accused Nikolai Polozov told Slon.

According to the lawyer, in the materials of the criminal case there is a protocol of seizure at Plotnitsky documents and objects that he transferred to the Investigative Committee for the examination nine months after the criminal case initiated. Polozov said that some images of cards were found on a mobile phone, and the examination will determine what exactly this was the cards. According to the lawyer, Plotnitsky was directly involved in the detention of Savchenko, as he was the commander of the battalion of the separatists "Zarya".

The lawyer also said that on April 24, Nadezhda Savchenko is planned to be charged under Part 1 of Article 322 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (crossing the state border of the Russian Federation without valid documents for entry), which was previously suspected. The lawyer considered that the charge is necessary to reinforce the investigation version, according to which Savchenko herself went to Russia from the Lugansk region of Ukraine, and was not taken prisoner of separatists and transferred to the Russian intelligence services, as the accused and its lawyers claim.

Polozov also commented on the statement of the Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov that Savchenko could be amnestied. “Here we can talk about the use of another part of the Minsk agreements, which speaks of the amnesty of all those involved in the events in the south-east. But in order to amnesty a person, you must first bring to court, and the court must make a decision, ” said Lavrov, answering the question of why Savchenko was not subject to release as part of the exchange of prisoners according to the formula for all for all.

The lawyer considered that the minister’s statement was either “conscious manipulation”, or indicates that he “does not own the material”. Polozov recalled that for amnesty it is not necessary to bring the case to court and added that the amnesty would not affect people accused of serious and especially serious crimes.

The press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that Savchenko could not be released, since the point of liberation applies only to people held in Ukraine.
