The opposition coalition will go to the elections in three regions

The opposition coalition, which includes the “Party of Progress” by Alexei Navalny, the RPR-Parnas and four more parties, announced its intention to take part in the September elections to local parliaments in three regions, BBC News reports .

As stated at the press conference of the coalition leaders, candidates from the association will be presented in the elections in Novosibirsk, Kaluga and Kostroma. The election programs will be formed depending on the region.

According to the leaders of the coalition, nominated candidates will be determined with the help of primaries, which will be held in May and June; At the same time, local activists will participate in them, not politicians from Moscow.

The creation of an opposition coalition was announced in early April. The coalition included the “Party of Progress”, the RPR-Parnas, “Democratic Choice”, “Civil Initiative”, “Party of December 5” and “Libertarian Party”. Support for the association was expressed by the “Open Russia” by Mikhail Khodorkovsky and the “Solidarity” movement.

As Alexei Navalny reported, the coalition will go to the RPR-Parnas based on the election, since this party has the so-called “signature privilege”, thanks to which you can register candidates for elections to the State Duma without collecting signatures. At the same time, the politician emphasized that there is no talk of a formal unification of parties.

Elections to local legislative assemblies in 2015 will be held on a single voting day on September 13. Residents of 11 regions will choose parliamentarians.
