Rambler will have its own news agency

The Russian media holding Rambler & Co creates an information agency, which will become a "primary source of business news in Runet."

This was told to Vedomosti by the press secretary of Rambler & Co Sofya Ivanova.

“The purpose of the project is to make up for the obvious deficiency of high -quality and operational business information in Runet,” Ivanova said. When the agency’s launch will take place, she refused to report, noting that “the site is being developed now”.

According to another source in Rambler & CO , the new project will not be a direct competitor to the full -cycle news agencies, but in the future it expects to compete with the Prime, the Interfax and TASS business blocks. “The agency will not have economic and political blocs,” the source explained. “The agency concentrates precisely on business news using the experience of TASS.”

Rambler & Co also reports that the holding is recruiting employees to the agency (there will be about 50 of them), including former TASS employees, the project is expected no earlier than a month later.

Peter Kanayev, who previously was the first deputy editor of the Economic Service of TASS, was appointed chef editor of the Rambler information agency, and before that, the deputy chief editor of Gazeta.ru, where the Blocus and Finance Bloc was overshadowed.
