The lawyer of the Kuban environmentalist Yevgeny Vitishko, who is serving a term in a colony-settlement in the Tambov region, appealed against the refusal of the Kirsanovskiy district court to grant his client parole. According to the website of the Open News Agency, the court in its decision did not substantiate why Vitishko needs to continue serving his sentence.
Representatives of the prosecutor's office during the court session insisted that Vitishko should not be granted parole, since he had penalties: in particular, due to the fact that he asked the head of the institution not to swear, weeded tomatoes incorrectly, handed over a jacket to another convict, and also told reporters about mass beatings of convicts.
