The builders of the Vostochny Cosmodrome in the Amur Region, which announced the unlimited hunger strike, abandoned the assistance of the prosecutor's office to recover salary debts through the court, the website of the regional supervisory authority reports.

On Wednesday, 20 builders of the cosmodrome announced a hunger strike against the systematic non -payment of salaries. The workers said that they had not received money for three months and were left without a livelihood. They are forced to eat and live in a dormitory. They have no money for the road home either.

The prosecutor’s report noted that during the audit, wages arrears were revealed in the amount of more than 14 million rubles. The department clarifies that 214 builders of the cosmodrome did not receive the salary. At the same time, the prosecutor’s office notes that they closed debts to 120 workers in the amount of more than eight million rubles.

In the fact of embezzlement during the construction of the Vostochny cosmodrome, several criminal cases have already been instituted. Directors of the contracting companies Sergey Terentyev and Igor Nesterenko were charged under the article "Non-payment of wages." Companies are also suspected of fraud and non -personal spending of funds.

Protest shares at the Vostochny cosmodrome demanding to pay salaries began in March. The workers even had to leave a message to President Vladimir Putin on the roofs of everyday life in order to draw the attention of the authorities to the problem of wage debts. During the direct line, the president promised that salaries would be paid.
