The defense believes that the investigation in the case of the murder of Boris Nemtsov in Chechnya is obstructed
The lawyers of the relatives of Boris Nemtsov asked the Investigative Committee to interrogate the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov , as well as the State Duma deputy Adam Delimkhanov, the commander of the North battalion Alibek Delimkhanov, his deputy Ruslan Geremeyev and the member of the Federation Council Suleiman Geremeyev, Interfax reports.
According to lawyer Vadim Prokhorov, in the territory of Chechnya, the investigation in the case of the murder of an opposition policy is replacing obstacles. For example, investigators cannot establish where Ruslan Geremeyev is located, the lawyer noted. Prokhorov added that in his petition, the defense refers to open sources, including the media and Nemtsov’s statements regarding the Chechen military. According to lawyers, interrogation is necessary within the framework of the presented version of the crime.
Ruslan Geremeyev, according to journalists, may be involved in the organization of the murder of Boris Nemtsov. It is assumed that Geremeyev is under the protection of the Chechen security forces who do not allow investigators to him.
According to investigators, the direct executor of the murder was Zaur Dadaev, the former colleague of Geremeyev in the battalion "North". Dadaev insists that the confessions that he gave immediately after the arrest were received by the investigation under pressure. Four more people are also held in the case - Anzor and Shadid Gubashevs, Khamzat Bakhaev and Tamerlan Eskerkhanov. All five suspects have been arrested. They insist on their innocence. The preliminary investigation is extended until August 28.
The Russian opposition believes that Boris Nemtsov’s motion was an official request for a policy indicating the fact of participation in the hostilities in the Donbass of Chechen militants and the role of Ramzan Kadyrov in this war.
