"Ensemble 2012" will perform in Moscow and Klin

At the Moscow Easter Festival and the Tchaikovsky International Festival in the Klin "Ensemble 2012" the Russian-German Academy will perform a program dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the World War II and composed of the works of composers from Russia and Germany, which were prohibited by the Nazis.

In the year of the 175th anniversary of the birth of Tchaikovsky, the ensemble will present the premiere of fantasy for the ensemble and electronics for seven plays from his cycle “Seasons”. The authors of the transfers of the plays for the chamber ensemble are composers Valentin Barykin and Kuzma Bodrov, the authors of electronic interms are Igor Kefalidi and Nikolaus Rexrot.

Mendelson's octet for strings Major Major (op. 20), which was created by Felix Mendelsson at the age of 16, is also close to the age of the participants of the “ensemble 2012”.

Concerts will be held in places related to Tchaikovsky- on May 4 in the small hall of the Moscow Conservatory, which bears his name, on May 5 -at the Tchaikovsky Museum in Klin.

The Russian-German Music Academy was created by young musicians from Russia and Germany, laureates of international competitions, and conservatory students. The purpose of the project is to stimulate the creative exchange between musicians of our countries, to identify similarities and individual characteristics of musical traditions. The main areas of activity of the Academy: master classes for musicians participating with leading teachers, the performance of rare and forgotten works of composers of Russia and Germany, the performance of the works of modern composers of both states.

Since September 2013, the base of the Academy is the Mariinsky Theater, and Valery Gergiev, the artistic director of the project.

Concerts of the Academy’s chamber team, the “ensemble 2012”, took place, in particular, at the Moscow Conservatory, the Mariinsky Theater, at the Beethoven festival in Bonn, at the Russian-German youth forum in Berlin.

In 2015, the Academy also plans to hold a series of orchestral concerts in St. Petersburg, Berlin, Munich and Kassel.
