The Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation canceled the state registration of the Progress Party and decided to exclude information about it from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities. As stated in the message of the Ministry of Justice, such a decision was made due to the fact that the party did not register its regional branches on time.

Progress Party leader Alexei Navalny called the justice ministry's decision a response to the opposition's decision to create unified lists for the 2015 and 2016 elections. Navalny also assured that "the Progress Party as a political structure will be preserved."

The Ministry of Justice of Russia decided to recognize the document on the state registration of the Progress Party as invalid.

The Progress Party passed official state registration with the Ministry of Justice on February 25, 2014. However, the ministry refused to include it in the list of parties eligible to participate in the elections, on the grounds that it violated the deadlines for registering regional branches.
The Progress Party challenged the decision of the Ministry of Justice in court, but was refused - first in the Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow, and then in the Moscow City Court.
On April 17, Alexei Navalny and Mikhail Kasyanov announced the creation of a coalition to participate in the 2015 and 2016 election campaigns. Unified lists of candidates are planned to be formed on the basis of the RPR-Parnas party.
