Crimea asks for 9.5 billion rubles for the Kuban-Crimea gas pipeline

In mid-April, the Ministry of Crimea sent to the relevant departments amendments to the Federal Target Program for the development of Crimea until 2020. In particular, we are talking about changes to the subprogram for the development of gas networks in the amount of 19.8 billion rubles, which was supposed to be fully financed from extra-budgetary sources, writes Kommersant ". “According to the proposals of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and the Council of Ministers of Crimea, it is proposed to finance the construction of the Krasnodar Territory - Crimea gas pipeline using federal budget funds in the amount of 9.57 billion rubles.”

Now Crimea is fully supplied with gas through its own production in the amount of about 1.9 billion cubic meters per year (mainly on the shelf of the peninsula), which is carried out by the local Chernomorneftegaz. But the peninsula depends on electricity supplies from Ukraine, so by 2018 it is planned to build gas power plants with a capacity of 900 MW in Crimea, which will require additional gas. It should be supplied via a future gas pipeline from the Krasnodar Territory from the Russkaya compressor station, from where the underwater part of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline (and previously South Stream) will begin. The capacity of the pipeline to Crimea will be 2 billion cubic meters per year.

Until now, it was assumed that, given the common starting point with the Turkish Stream, the Crimean pipeline would be built by Gazprom at its own expense, although the company itself has never confirmed this.
